Subject: [tcb] Re: Disc Brake Conversion

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. Gary, my brakes are adjusted & set but
going up & down the Rockie Mountains I would feel better knowing I could stop.
Sammie, I thought about electric trailer brakes however I have never had a
split bus that the electric system worked well enough to run the lights all the
time much less a brake. I'm planning to pull an Eriba Puck at about 600#, not
sure the brand but Wolfsburg wants $1,400 for the kit. Since mine is '67 I
don't have to worry about changing the MC so the hardest part is letting go of
the cash. Ronnie, let me know if yours is the Wolfsburg (BTW I have plenty of
time to work on it now).
Mark, did you see my email about the trim?

looking to spend a grand to do it very easy to install using stock wheel no

I put SACO Wilwood brakes on my ’65 with a ’67 MC. I wish I could tell you
how they work. :-) I liked the fact that the hub used the split bus bearings
and dust seals, and is compatible with the standard wheels.

Eric W just plunked down money for a front disc setup of a different brand. I
haven’t gotten the call yet to help with the install. :-)

Anyone have experience with disc brake conversion on a split bus? I have a
trailer and would like to have sufficient stopping ability at an affordable
price. Would like to convert front only. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
