Take out the Bentley, Try adjusting the stars all the way out (I can never remember which way to turn the damn things). If it still feels stiff jack it up and try taking the drums off, LEAVE THE WHEELS ON for leverage. If the stars won't move then plan to replace the shoes even they appear to be good because, you'll need to spray PB!Blaster in the holes to coat the stars --- and will will also soak the shoes. Spray, wait several hours, spray again, try to move them the next day. If it's not drivable yet then don't worry about the bearings or grease, just stick the old ones back in unless they fall completely apart. If you can get the drums off then taking the old stuck shoes out will be a self evident procedure. TAKE PICTURES of each step so you can put them back in later. Remove all the old shoes and put the drums back on. Tape a note to the steering wheel that says to keep your feet at least 10 yards away from the brake pedal at all times. You live in hill country --- you may want to just break the rear shoes free and leave them installed so you can use the e-brake (but never push the pedal if you have either front or rear shoes removed -- just the e-brake pull handle). If both front and rear are so bad they need to come out (the shoes fell off of the backing plates when I pulled the drums on the '70) then keep a set of wheel chocks handy and always hook a strap to a good tree or other vehicle if moving the bus around on hills. Something that will stop it if it "gets away from you".
