I said 50s and 60s. I would say that all the stuff that VW produced post 67
was
a pile of crap, but I don't want to offend any bay drivers on the list.

I had the pleasure, but that was in the 70s... ;-)
and yes the 77 standard beetle, the last year imported into the US, was a piece
of junk due to the constant fuel injection problems, even in 1977.
