Are they the couple standing there being photoed by the photogropher by the
Kong Bus? Look like a nice normal couple; so how did they get thrown out?

I can't wait to here the story of who and why on the throw out. Any pictures
of who got thrown out?

complete Chuck's trip report is. Stuff happened to us hourly and when I start
to write about it I kinda get locked up. Excellent writing.

After recovering, somewhat from Kip's party, and after a shower, we struck
out for the Bulli Brigade. All the previous years it had been held in a parking
lot behind a car dealership. It was OK, but it was a big parking lot. This year
it was in a park with winding roads all through the trees. I liked it a lot.
The Bulli is only for Split busses and they were every shape and sort. Good
swap stuff. We went to breakfast at a place only about a block away, called
Skyway Jack's. Chuck mentioned it, but he didn't tell you that every single
thing on the menu is bigger than your head. I had a crab omelet that was about
18" long. Jan had fried halibut that was about 2" thick and a foot long with
mashed potatoes for 4 normal people.. We told someone that we had eaten there
and a woman said that she loves eating there, but that she feels that she
should eat it all and you just can't.

All the judging at the Bulli is by the public and there are only 6 or so
trophies. Last year they were hubcaps, this year they were panels from the
overhead vents. I can't remember who won longest trip, but he looked like he
came from Saturn.

Then there was the cruise. And there was no longer a Splitty only rule. lots
of VWs of all kinds. Most times, a cruise is a quiet little drive to dinner or
through the countryside. Here it is a 50/60 mile an hour, 40 mile or so dash up
the interstate with a break at a big rest area. I think someone counted 80
busses strung out for miles.

For some reason, this year there were two rent-a-cops there who got all
pushed out of shape that some of us had parked with two wheels on the grass.
They were pure stereotypes of southern Barney Fifes. One really fat and the
other really skinny. They had the flat brimmed hats and all the equipment of
State Troupers, but they kept threatening to call the cops. They were shocked
and pissed off that they got no respect. They were just too funny to fear.

Back on to the freeway to the "host" hotel. Last year there was only one
hotel. This year there were three, all solidly booked up . I feel sorry for the
people that had stopped there for the night that didn't know that the Hell's
Angels of the VW world were spending the night, too.

Next, we will finally tell the story of the Kong bus and get to why it took
the police (real this time) to throw the KupKake ( "the one with the red hair
and lipstick" ) and Christi out of the Bug Jam.
