2. I've heard (friend's Ghia) that there is a plate under the shifter that, if
backwards, can cause problems. Try flipping this guy around:

Subject: [tcb] Bug Questions
Got the Hummbug running but have a couple of questions.
1. Is there a front transmission mount on a bug? You you take or or slow down
it feels like something is moving.
2. I bought an EMPI trigger shifter at the Classic and can't seem to get 1 & 2
gear sorted out. The reverse works fine, but when you come out of R it goes to
3rd & 4th. There isn't an adjusting plate like on a bus.
Any suggestions appreciated.
