Cleaned the contacts on the turn signal switch and everything is working again.
Of course nothing is that simple on a VW.
1. Cleaned, everything worked, put it back together and not only do the brake
lights not work neither do the blinkers.
2. Take everything apart, check voltages, blow it out with an air nozzle,
everything works, put it back on the column, nothing works.
3. Take everything apart, squirt a little WD40 on the switch, everything works,
put it back on the column AND everything works.
