hey julie, hope ya'll are having a great time! there's a nice free camp spot
out
on the mesa with some hot springs. the springs are called Manby springs, but
most of the locals call it stagecoach springs 'cause there's some old ruins
from
a stage stop nearby. to find them go out toward the gorge bridge, before the
gorgethe road will be on the right(coming from town) past the airport(on left).
there has been a roadsign at the beginning of the gravel road intermitently, it
reads"Manby Rd."just go down that road 'till you can't go any more, there's
great views, free camping, and naked hippies! say hi for me! hehe, abe

We have been winging it the whole way. So far we have found places to
park/camp
in the Bus for the free every night. Lots and lots of the natural areas are
closed down because of the fires. The handfull of small campground that are
still open are all full so we find other places and we haven't had one axe
murderer or bear threaten us yet!
