Yep. I have met George Barris. He is one cool guy and will talk about almost
anything. I will never be able to afford anything that he has imagined and
built, but I will always love the MonkeeMobil. I will enjoy my VWs.

Well how about the Batmobile that went for $4.2 million. You would think that
those guys could find a better use for their money than that. Heck, they could
buy VW busses for a lot less.

Well. You must be right about "drunks" bidding. Here is the list of cars and
what they sold for this year. I just can't get over how much the Scooby Doo
bus went for...$110,000.

Amazing...just amazing.

Porsche friend of mine is taking his winter vacation by going to Scottsdale and
going to the BJ auction. I have researched the VWs on that show for a couple
of years and they sell anywhere from 50 to 100% more than they are worth. Have
not looked this year because I got tired of watching high-roller drunks bidding
on cars that they know nothing about and just bidding to see who can outbid the
other.

If you want to see people spending stupid money...Barrett-Jackson is on the
Speed Channel tonight through the weekend. I looked up the catalog and only 25
VWs out of 1400 cars. But at least we are representing. I haven't seen any
tonight so far, but I do know that there are some busses on the list.

Mark and I are hoping to go to the Mecum Auto Auction that will be in Houston
the first week of April. We probably won't bid on anything...but am excited
about seeing what is available. That auction is shown live on Velocity.
