Do you mean the metal part that connects to the glass that rides up and down?

“When that happened to me.”

First thing to do is pull the door panel
and look. There is a 2”-3” u channel at the bottom of the window
that is spot welded to the regulator that will break loose. I brazed mine back
together. 6 years and still holding. Do It fast and have a bucket of water near
as the rubber in the u channel will catch on fire.

I was rolling up my window to call it a day after a
good 8 hrs on the Bus then it happened...nothing.

I can turn the gear freely on the regulator that attaches to the window
crank, but it is no longer connected to the worm gear I suppose. Is there a
spot weld on the other side? Is there a bolt that has come loose?

I might have found another one but I think a spot weld would be cheaper by
  about $35.

  Thanks!
