Yep; got one of those Craftsman impact drivers. They work great on large
screws; not sure she can use that thing around her safari windows though.

If those hinges are held in by giant phillips head fasteners, then there's a
special manual impact driver that I have for those. I bought it at SEARS. You
get the right size bit, put it in place and twist as if to unscrew the bolt.
Then whack the end with a big a$$ hammer. It takes a few whacks, but it'll
finally give way. I use all the techniques already mentioned to help like
heat, PB Blaster, 50/50 acetone and ATF, never heard of the crayon - but I'm
gonna try that too!. This tool is great for door hinges etc. too

I have been working on Sonne for 12 hours straight today. Well sort of
straight. I did stop for food and to cool in front of the fan every now and
again. Some grinding. Lots of sanding on the rusty window sills and the drip
rail.
My hinges for my pop outs are poorly. One moves enough but it seems impossible
to get the screws out so I can take it off the hinge to rebuild the window.
And
the other hinge has the window off but won't budge. I have sprayed it many
times over many hours with PB Blaster and I removed as much rust from it as I
could. It still won't budge. Isn't there some home made remedies that work
better than PB Blaster?
I will leave a big ring around the bathtub tonight for sure.
