So if the toggle button is pressed there is no voice at all. When the keyboard is unlocked there is then speech.. Does this not become rather tedious especially when you have the phone in your pocket whilst moving around? One of the reasons I mute Talks myself is simply to avoid being this odd guy with a chattering phone in his pocket when he is not even using it! With regard to the message tone being cut off, you can replicate this problem as well by checking for new e-mail messages, and ensuring that Talks is speaking as soon as the messages have finished downloading. When I receive a text all I hear is a bleep. However if I lock the keypad the ring tone for my messages plays no problem. Is this a talks issue as sometimes i hear the first part of the text being spoken. I have it set to talks not reading any text in my messages. I thought the upgrade of talks solved this problem? Another talks problem is that in the screen where I type the telephone numbers to make a call. there are two letters that say the day of the week. e.g we Wednesday sa Saturday. I attempted to change this to say Wednesday and Saturday and saved them globally. When I typed a text message it read Wednesday when I typed we. As the only two choices to save those settings are globally and application.
