I used the KNFB reader the other night to read a menu and it worked nice. If someone shows you the relevant pages it speeds things up nice. As for the N82 being pulled my most networks, it seems strange as the N82 is meant to have a slightly faster processor than the N95, a better flash and one or two bugs have been cleared out too. I hear the GPS receiver is slightly improved in the N82 as well. I wonder if it is because the slide style of the N95 is more fationable and people are just going for it every time so they kept that going instead?

That is strange indeed Steve. You did not tell me what that reader is on the N82 Steve. I know now it is a scanner but what would you be scanning?

Hi Eleanor,

Depends who you talk to. Vodafone did have the N82 in the beginning, I know
a couple of people who got it, then they pulled it like they often do. But
what is strange is that all the operators have pulled it.

All the best

Steve

That would make sense Alex. I understand. Interesting though Vodafone
never did have the N82 to the best of my knowledge and now did I understand
was Graham saying they are not as readily available. I love my N95 though,
slider or not. I have a special area in my bag for it so the slider does
not open but if I leave it on a chair at home and forget and sit down on it,

the slider may open and wonderful noises come from my bunn, smile!

Eleanor, oh I don't know, maybe restaurant menus, stuff you can't take
home
and scan with your scanner.

Eleanor, KNFB Reader is a piece of software for a phone which allows you
to
scan documents using the camera on your phone. It costs nine hundred quid
though so it's out of my price range!

Hi Eleanor,

I too have an N82. The main incentive for having this phone, is that it
works with the KNFB reader. The N95 is a good phone though.

All the best

You obviously felt it to be better than N95 then.

Eleanor, I wouldn't give yourself too much of a hard time over it.
When
I
had an n95 and I first got it, I managed to break the door that holds
the
sim card in and had to have the phone replaced.

hi eleanor

ok with your description, i've finally managed to find the gate after
a
few months lol. what i will add for any totally blind people is the
little leaver is on the left side of the phone with the bottom facing
towards you so don't look in the flat part under the battery, that is
where i was going wrong lol.

Kaz I am dreadful too but it is very easy in the N95. There is a
little
catch well I am not good at describing things. This catch at the
back
of

the phone is like the back of a battery holder on a portable radio.
Easy

to slide towards you using your index finger. You can feel the
ridge
so
press in and slide towards you. Lift the lid and there is the
battery
which you want to take out. I always put the battery down with it
facing

the same position as when I take it out of the phone. Now sometimes
they

do not come out easily and it may be necessary to turn the phone
over
and

let the battery drop into the palm of your hand. Main thing is
rembering

what way up the battery was in the phone and what way you place it
on
the

table while doing the SIM. There is then a SIM holder and it has a
little lever projecting upwards. This is very easy to lift also. I
am
useless at this type of thing but on the N95 it is easy to lift. I
come
a little unstuck here as I have some vision and can see the sim
card.
There is a little gold area and as I recall it is important that
this
is
the uppermost side. Once placed in the holder close down the lever
again, replace the battery and the back of the phone and off you go.
Now

when you turn the phone on if it does not work, then you will know
the
SIM is in upsiddown so go back and repeat the exercise and this time
turn

the SIM over the other way. Incidentally if the power does not come
back

on then the battery will be in the wrong way round. Be brave Scot
give
it a go. I am useless and if I can do it then so can you. I have no
doubt someone else will come with a better explanation than mine.
