Hello Elaine,
Talks will read the date on the stand-by screen in the general
profile. If you select any of the other profiles Talks will announce
your network name and profile without the date. You can have the time
and date spoken from anywhare by pressing Talks followed by 9. Please
note that all profiles except the general one can have their name
edited. this way you can set up your phone just the way you like it.
