Oh yeah, totally agree. I have the 6680 myself and love it. Only mentioned
the n70 because it was fractionally smaller.

  Hi.

Well, I've got a 6680 and was offered the N70 as an alternative phone. Apart
from the 2 MP camera, there is a very minor difference with the possible
exception of slight height and thickness differences but only by a few
millimetres.

Hmmmmmmm, I suppose if you look at the size of the smallest phones compared
to the older bulky camera phones there is a sizable difference but when you
look at something like the N-70, I hardly think there's a lot of room to
complain. They're still pocket sized and even will fit into the old womens
handbag, smiles!

It isn't a problem ignoring the camera software - you either use it or
you don't. The annoying thing is to accommodate the camera, the screen must be
large, therefore making the phone itself large.

Why do you just not ignore the camera software and video functions?

I personally find the picture facility very good, not for me, as I am
totally blind, but for showing sighted friends picture and I can use a text
label to know which photos I am showing people from the gallery. - Talks and
camera phones are excellent!

        My opinion!

        Regards

I had looked at the RNIB phone but I didn't really think it very
practial (Like many things from the RNIB). I know the phones are not designed
for Talks and we're only lucky we can use them by chance, that's the problem!
By nature the phones that are compatible with Talks are the camera/vidio ones
and that is really annoying when you were used to using a small phone and
didn't want to go backwards.

            Hi Barbara,
The only reason we can have smart phones that can handle Talks is
that we are on the back of a successful mainstream product line. The mass
market is for a phone with camera and display and we have to go along with it.
If you really don't want to have the screen then use the Oasis from
the RNIB. Sadly it is not a mainstream product and although having no display
is no smaller or cheaper.

The 3230 is fairly sized but from going from using non-Talks
phones such as the 1100, 3100 etc to the Talks compatible models it is a big
leap in size. And all because of a massive screen we don't even need!

                Hi.

Well, I saw the N70 as I was offered it as a free upgrade but
it isn't worth the Extra. I have a 6680 which suits me fine.

                  Hi Ibraham,
The consolation is that the smaller the phone the harder it
is to find. I have an N70 which has the advantage of being thin, and fits in
my pocket without a bulge.

                    Hi Everyone.

In response to Barbra's question, I have looked at the
Symbian device list and it would seem that only a limited number of phones can
run talks as most of the other manufacturers use either phones with touch
screens or the new graphical symbian interface called UIQ.

Unfortunately, I can't find any phone that runs the S60
interface that doesn't have a camera. I don't know about size, but you can be
sure that most of the phones that are coming out these days will have these
large screens and high resolution cameras which will inevitably mean chunky
units for the foreseeable future. If anyone knows any different, please fill
us in on this.

                    Best wishes, Ibrahim Gucukoglu
