Hi Husna. All I can do is let you know my experience, a truncated version anyway since I did have a bit of a pantomime getting things sorted out. Firstly. I am a new Vodafone customer (since January). I took out a contract wich is 18 months with the first 3 months half price. I pay £20 per month and for that I get 125 free minutes cross network anytime with stop the clock and 250 free texts. These minutes and texts are roll over. I got the 6680 free and TALKS installed free. I was originally given about 7 different models that were available and were TALKS compatible, among them the N70 but I discounted this as I found the keypad was less easy to use compared to the 6680. It does seem that Vodafone have a problem with there call centre staff not knowing what is happening. Some Know all about TALKS and some are on a different planet, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I had to go direct to MR. D and he got things sorted out the same afternoon. If you want any more information of how I faired, then contact me off list and I'll be happy to help. I thought the phone would be free and come as part of that contract and are all the talks contracts with vodaphone for 18 months? I was under the impression that the contracts were for 12 months. then I said well I'll have the 6680, she said that would be £30, I agreed to this. she went away and then came back to say they didn't have the 6680 available in that store any more and would not be restocking as they had been directed to sell the n70s from now on. I asked her to call some other stores which she said she did but no one would answer. I then asked her whether I could order from the website and then bring the phone into the store, she said I could, so I asked if she could make sure, she asked the manager and he said it would be okay. from this list I was aware of the difficulties people have had with vodaphone so I asked her to get written assurance from the manager which the manager wouldn't give. apparently he was too busy although it would only take a minute. my day was wasted! so have people bought phones on the website and taken them into the store to get talks installed? was it successful and did you have to pay anything extra for this? thanks, Husna ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Ireland" <andrew@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 26, 2006 8:32 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: new phone query > Hi All, > > I had problems with Duxbary not answering his phone or his mail, one > e-mail to his boss sorted it out.
