Hi Steve,
I don't think that will be too difficult or far away. people like Red Hat are already on to some of this stuff, and with the increasing demands on business for open source applications, I think that development is being driven that way.

Hi Colin,

I agree, you just now need to find the people to write it. Your next week's
homework.

All the best

Steve

but there is open source development for other screen reader software, such as Thunder, NVDA, Orca etc etc, why isn't; or there maybe, free open source
screen reader software for mobile phones?

Is this thread not a bit old now?

Ok, so we all agree that Talks has opened up the way we are now able to
communicate with others via our mobiles.

The fact is that if we want Talks on more than one phone we need to pay
for an additional licence (still works out cheaper than JAWS) which is
fair enough, otherwise how would future product development be possible?

It would be nice if the mobile networks (02, T-mobile 3 and Orange)
were to offer some kind of discount or meet half way in the costs but in
reality that will probably not happen.
Regards;
Paul.

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm always banging the drum for TALKS

I have to absolutely agree with Steve here.

Talks is an amazing bit of software for the price.

It has revolutionised the way we are able to communicate, not just
with
the
basic norms on a phone like texting and access to the calendar and
such
but,
with virtually full access to the internet and things like Wayfinder
Access
too.

Hi Jim,

No I don't, simply because of the price. If you want Talks on three
phones,
you only pay 250 pounds. This is still less than half the price of
JAWS,
so
what are you complaining about?

All the best

Steve

Hi List,

I am a jaws user and I have jaws software installed on two pcs and a
laptop.

I've used up my three slots, as it were Isn't a pity that I can't do
the
same with Talks software. I have to pay extra if I want taht software
on a
second or even third phone. Does the list think this is a bit of a
rip?

Discuss, smile.
