Hi John

You've probably got sorted out now with sighted assistance, but I'm just
catching up with my Emails, and note your query. Yes, the lock on the left
side is on a spring, and it does lock and unlock the phone.

The buttons are all tactile and quite easily identifiable from one another on
the sliding portion of the handset. The top two keys on the left and right
side of your joypad are your soft keys, left for options, and right for back as
a rule.

Below these on the left and right side are your call send and call end buttons,
respectively.

And below these, on the left and right, are your Talks/menu button, and your
delete key.

The power button is at the top left part of the phone, but isn't as tactile as
some I've seen.

If you slide the screen down, your MP3 player buttons are at the top, and are
also all tactile.

This is probably too late for you now, but hope it helps.

Hi Amro,

I will wait for sighted help as I am not used to the keys on the N86. A sighted
friend and I had a slight problem with the key lock today. I did find about
twenty minutes ago a button on the left side that could be pushed down but was
on a spring. Not sure if that has anything to do with the locked keypad. Will
have to wait for sighted help with that one too.

Now I know where the icon is, didn't think about checking the system tray.

Thanks Amro.

Kindest Regards, John

Not Al but yeah, you have to choose pc suite from the dialog that pops
up on the phone's screen when you connect the phone to your computer. You'll
probably need sighted help to do this. Or, you could just keep trying until you
enter on the right choice!

Once the phone's correctly connected, you can left single click
the Nokia pc suite system tray icon, from the drop down menu choose install
applications and then follow the on screen steps.

                HTH,
                Amro

                Hi Al,

Thanks a million for the help. I am wondering about some
questions. Do I need to have the n86 on Nokia pc suite? I am also using vista
which I think is a problem in itself. I attached the phone honestly.lol As I
have no sight I guessed where pc suite might be but apparently not. The message
was n86 connected in non compatible mode.

I think at this point I might need sighted help.

I did try alt in Nokia pc suite but didn't get a drop down menu
only system, minimize maximize etc.

I then clicked on the file using the numpad but all I got was
envoke checked and exit.

Do I require sighted help and does the phone have to be set for
pc suite before I get the option to install?

                Kindest Regards, John

Hi John go to the Nokia pc suite, press alt for the
menu, come down to " install applications" press enter and follow the
navagational combo boxes till you get to the desired file, it should now
install! I also have had this issue! (obviously ensure your phone is connected)
Hope this helps!

                        Hi List,

I am having some problems installing talks on an N86. A
sighted friend assures me she selected pc suite but when I press enter on the
talks sis file or eloquence file nothing happens. I am connected to the phone
as I can get into the folders via windows explorer.

Any ideas what might be happening?

                        Kindest Regards, John
