Hi,

The firmware is the software, or the brains of the phone. The operating system
if you like. Nokia improve it every so often, and then release updates.

All the best

Steve

I know I'm going to sound like a real dummy, and there's no real surprise or
change there, but what is this firmwear you talk about. Explain as if you
were talking to a child please or someone who knows nothing about phones.

Hi Eleanor,

It'll be interesting to see what your niece discovers when and if she's able
to get to a phone shop.

BTW, the firmware 30.101 was only released towards the end of last year. It
was released in a batch along with firmware for the N95, N95-8GB and N82.
The v30.033 was the one released in August, although the firmware is
timestamped July.
