Hi. No, you can't use Talks with the Iphone. Personally, I am just happy
with the talks I have as it does what I want it to do, except GPS. I'm not
into hi-tech gadgets in this field so won't be getting an Ifone anytime
soon, if ever. . Walter

Hi Walter

IF you're using ifone do you need Talks as well then? I got the impression
the ifone allows access via it's on-board speech...?

Anyway, that's the Trekker Breeze ruled out for me; thanks for your help
with that.

Hi I guess I might as well post the links for those two demonstrations
here, this way it will save me having to send multiple mails. As for the
Breeze, this is only a route reminder, not a rout finder, you must travel
the rout first. Certainly the Navagon for the Ifone won't work with talks
but I'm not sure about the Walky Talky app. He might say, I'm not sure.
The links are below and they are MP3. Walter.

Hi Walter

Any and all info on this topic much appreciated by me. I'm using Talks,
currently, and own a Trekker Pro'. Don't get on with the Trekker at all
though; it's way to hefty and cumbersome for me and too techie; too many
gadgets to carry; too tempting for muggers.

So, I@m looking for a cheap and effective sat' nav' solution. Pretty
urgently needing help with this question. Is anyone finding Trekker Breeze
particularly good? That's at least a sat' nav' in just one box, isn't it?

Thanks lots for any help.

Hi. Just out of interest. On one of my other lists some guy posted a
review of a GPS system he is besotted with. He used to use mobile Speak but
doesn't any more as he thinks the system he has now is by far more accurate
and responsive. He is American and I've no idea if it is available here and
in any case, it isn't for me as I now have a Trekker Pro. From what he says
it uses Google maps and uses something called "Walkie Talkie." This is a
female voice. He takes a car trip from his home to a local restaurant and
then back home. I have the sound files here of his trip and if anyone wants
to here it, I'll upload it to Send Space and send you the link, just let me
know. I haven't listened to the entire thing so can't give an honest
opinion but I'm sure you will come to your own conclusion. I also have
another presentation with demonstration in the field of an GPS app for the
Iphone called navagon. I have listened to this one in it's entirety and
thought it was very good. The guy who does the presentation boght all the
USA maps for only $45 and the Navagon app is cheap also. If you want this
one then let me know and I'll upload it. Walter.

Chris,

perhaps, but the question is how long are you prepared to wait, a month, 6
months, a year, or longer? people who have Wayfinder Access need an option
by no later than the end of March 2011.

Hi all.
Let's all try to be positive please. I have no doubts that if Code Factory
can get Ovi Maps to work, so can Nuance. It's just a matter of time. In fact
I was talking to someone at my housing association this morning working at
the sensory team. I told them that I would love to try GPS. This very topic
came up and I was just positive that Talks will come out with similar
support in the future. When it does I will sure upgrade both my phone and
Talks so that I can use Ovi Maps. As I say though, it's just a matter of
time.
Take care.
