Amy,

Apple is not shaking up anything, they are not forcing developers to do
anything and the maximum limit of what they are doing is encouragement.

apple through a highly vigerous and structured process force developers to
make applications to their standards, these standards if strictly adhered to
make it possible to differing levels of success for their screen reader
Voice Over to access those applications.

but as I keep trying to say, just because you can access the application in
terms of getting your foot in the door, doesn't make the whole application
accessible.

I keep hearing that apps on the Apple iPhone are all accessible, they are
not, in part many of them are, but many of them disappoint, leaving you able
to perhaps read titles and buttons, but do nothing with that.

So Ifone is doing well with gps as well as so much else?
Sounds like Apple is on the verge of shaking up access tech altogether. Not
before time, in my view; the sooner Apple make other developers get real
about the acceptability of serially ripping off people with access needs,
the better for us all.
V interesting thread. Thanks everyone

yep i agree but there needs to be something now i mean the iphone has free
or four diffrent accesssable apps allready for g p s so it is beating talks
hands down in that reguard and it is newer as well. talks do need to try and
catch up really as quick as possible or ells a lot of people are going to be
left with out a viyable option.
