and your still struggling to find the shift key I see! a common problem
when first using samsung netbooks as the shift key is in the wrong
place. I only want to connect one device to my phone at a time so I
think Joiku should do the trick. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Graham,

If you use Bluetooth, you will be slow. Bluetooth can only travel at
about 115000 BPS, Bits Per Second. You should in theory get 384000 BPS
with 3G if you are in a good coverage area.

Also, Bluetooth will only let you connect one device. If you buy WHS,
any wireless client can connect to it, Pacmate, Braillenote, you name
it.

I would go for the WHS or Joiku solution personally, over Bluetooth.
Although both solutions drain the battery on the phone, grab a spare
battery and you are good to go.

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve. Yes I was addressing the issue of what to do if your phone
carrier did not work. I myself am thinking about one of these products.

all I want to do is find the best way of connecting my laptop to the
phone.
I suppose I could use a usb cable and use the nokia driver but I want a
wires free way really. If I use bluetooth, is the bluetooth serial
connection the fastest way I have? If not, is Joycu or walking Hotspot
the way to go?

Graham

Hi Graham,

But what Carla is asking is for other ways to connect her phone, not
other
devices. So WHS or Joiku would not do this. They are designed purely to
turn your phone into a wireless router.

All the best

if your usual carrier has no connection and you are near a wireless
access
point that you can access then you can use this. otherwise tough luck
I'm
afraid.

cheers

Hi Steve,
I was after a program which allowed me to connect to the internet just
using

the mobile when I'm unable to connect via my usual carrier. I was under
the
impression that Walking Hotspot or Joycu Spot did this but I was
obviously
wrong. Any other suggestions?

Carla.

Hi Carla,

Hang on, I'm not sure you are understanding what those products are.

They don't get you a better signal with your phone, they merely allow
you to
use your phone as a wireless router, to connect other devices. Not your
phone, I stress, but other devices. So if you don't have a laptop, what
are
you going to connect? If nothing, then there is no point to you having
either product.

All the best

Steve

Hi List,
I was just wondering what application to go for. I don't have a laptop
but I
want to have connection to the internet when I'm unable to get a signal
from
GPS. What one is better to go for when I'm only using a mobile?

Carla.
