Hi Carol.

OK, if you want to discuss this in detail and are prepared to give me your phone number off list, I'll ring you and explain the options to you so as you understand what licensing talks provides. My email address is ibrahim_gucukoglu@xxxxxxxxx

I'm somewhat confused ...

I personally haven't managed to insert sims on my own as I don't need to do it that often and don't remember quite what I'm doing. I suppose with practice I'd be OK but haven't had to do it much.

So, if I don't licence the sim, what's the other method, the IMEI?

Carol

Just a word on SIM licensing. I think it is excellent
value unless of course you want to have two phones on the
go at once. It's not all that difficult to swap SIMs and
you simply register it in each phone as you go.

Hi Steve,

I don't want to be swapping my sim around from phone to
phone (often tedious to try to do it alone ...) but I
would want to have the licence swapped, should I decide
to go for another phone.
Which then is the best for me to go for? (Now I'm
feeling a bit confused after your last comment ...)

Hi Carol,

You can, but obviously, you would have to pay the
upgrade prices for Talks, unless you got a Sim-based
licence.
All the best

Steve

Thank you for this information. As long as I can change
phones and choose whether to upgrade then I'll be happy
enough.

Hi Carol

With WFA 'lifetime' means that you can use the
version you have purchased as long as you wish but if
you want or need a new version you have to pay some
fee. You can also move the application from phone to
phone without extra costs.
Personally i have found tthe Qstarz receiver Talknav
is selling quite accurate and reliable.

Are you saying, though, that I could change my phone

mean and, for that matter, what doesn't it mean? This is pretty relevant to me as I'm thinking of a
phone in a few months' time, but may (for some
reason) not go that route after all. Nobody has
commented about the GPS receivers either. Which ones
do and do

not work well with Wayfinder Access?

Thanks for any further clarification.

Just one clarification on that Steve,

Life time is for the version that you buy at the
time, you may have to pay in the future for new
updates or versions, but if you never upgrade again,
you'll never pay.

Hi Carol,

Lifetime means just that. You can transfer to any
handset you want, but you can only use one handset
at a time. You may have to pay for upgrades in the
future, but not for the maps themselves.

You can either register on the Talknav site, or give
us a call, and we can do it for you in our usual
friendly way <Smile>.

All the best

Steve

CLARIFICATION POINTS, PLEASE!

Hi all,

Well, I'm about to purchase - at last!

Before doing so, I'm not sure whether my GPS receiver
is still working properly. If not, what does anyone
recommend to go with the Nokia N95. (I know that
receiver is not up to it so don't intend to use the
phone's own receiver.)

Second, so I download the latest software I find on
the TALKNAV pages and then how does the registration
process work?

Finally, what does "Lifetime" mean? Does it mean
while you have a certain handset, or is the licence
transferable to other handsets?

Thanks for answers. I'm nearly set to go! <Smiles>
