Hi Eleanor,

No, of course you can't do that, because the left/right and up and down
behave differently on active standby. You can change what is on the desktop
though, Tools, Settings, General, Standby Mode, then down to Active Standby
Shortcuts.

All the best

Steve

I did do that Steve and realized 1 of 7 related to the icons. What about if
I want to put other icons on? I see that by putting the active standby on,
I then cannot use my designated hot keys, e.g. right arrow key, left arrow
key and up and down arrow keys.

Hi Eleanor,

Talks should be reading you the icons if you reboot the phone as I said.

Well maybe Angie can see the icons for the short-cuts but I would not be
able to do that. However, I do like the idea of the calandar entry thing
and as far as I can tell by having turned on active standby, it would read
the entries to me Steve.

Hi Eleanor,

Well to give you an idea, my wife Angie uses Active, and I don't. I prefer
the non-graphical approach, but Angie likes the fact you can have a kind of
desktop and load all your shortcuts.

All the best

Steve

Thanks Steve. Strange how at the very beginning some guy told me to turn
off active standby as it was not used very often.

Hi

My friend was showing me how she has her calandar done on the N95. She has
a graphic of a photograph where the calandar is displayed on all days, then
she can bring up each day and view what to do or what appointments. Again I
think she has a graphic here. Finally if say she has appointments for today
when today comes at her desktop screen so to speak. I cannot think of
another name for it, at the top of the screen is written her things to do or
appointments. Anyone know how to set up all of this please.

Eleanor
