Walter, for what it's worth, the keypad on the N85 and N96 are the same. Yes they are flush and designed in strip fashion...so there's no obvious raised buttons. Saying that I personally don't find it a problem, but I can appreciate that others could do. The only thing is I wouldn't base my choice of phone on the keypad, it would be based on features, reliability and build. HTH, cheers Steve. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Walter Ramage" <wpr@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Barbara. I called them back this morning and told them I had been mislead and I wasn't happy. Before I say much more I was in the Voedafone store this morning and got a feel of the 6210 and it was very compact and very small in comparison to the 95 which sometimes feels like a Fischer price product. The keypad on the 6210 is very similar to the 6680 butsmaller but the keys are distinctive. The only thing that is off putting isthe lack of a dedicated 3.5 jack socket but I think I understand their reasoning as the phone is so slimline a huge 3.5 jack socket would look abit strange. Nonetheless, if I can get an adaptor then I'll keep the phone. The 85 according to the guy on the phone yesterday, the guy who gave mewrong info said the 85's keypad is even more difficult to use than the 96 as it is much more flush and there isn't a great deal to help orientate you onthe keypad. In the store I asked the guy there about the keypad and he looked at the 96 and said the 85's keypad is much less distingtive and little to indicate where the numbers are. If anyone on this list who is total and has an 85 I would be happy to hear from you and get your opinion as to the keypad. Now, It seems when you place an order for a phone orestablish a new contract, the operators only have 1 hour to cancel. If thatisn't done with in that time it is a lot simpler to get the phone and thensend it back which I will do if I can't get an adaptor. It isn't the first time I've been given duff info from Voedafone. The store here has the 85 in stock but not on display. I didn't really have a lot of time but I think if I had asked for a look, they would have said no. They are not very helpfulat times. Give you wronginfo and then you have to constantly ring back to have it confirmed or rejected. I think on the basis of them giving you false information they should change the deal for you to include the N85 rather than the 6210 if this is the phone you prefered. OK. Here we go. in view of what some were saying yesterday Iwent to the Voedafone store this morning. I asked about the N85 and if ithad a touch screen element. The guy there said no it hasn't. When I got home I called Voedafone and told them what I was told yesterday by there colleague. The guy I spoke to on the phone this morning said it did have a touch screen but when I told him what I was told on this list last night and what the store assistant told me this morning he disappeared for a few minutes and came back and told me that it didn't have a touch screen element but on the reviews and on the screen image he had it looked as if it had.I'm not very pleased as I got a new contract based on what the guy told meyesterday. I would be happy to keep the 6210 but I have felt it in the store this morning and it felt really nice but has the Nokia headphone socket and not the standard one. If I can find an adaptor to convert the socket to a standard socket then I would keep it but if I can't then I'll send it back. I want the option to use high quality ear phones with my phone and not the bog standard type and if they got damaged I would be stuckand not be able to use the phone's player other than via the mono speaker. Does anyone know where I can get such an adaptor? and soon as I have only7 days from Wednesday to find one.
