Alex Nokia Maps is part of the firmware. You can't uninstall it. You can delete landmarks in which you have saved but you can't delete the application.

Thanks for your input.  I'm having a serious think regarding
the subject of this thread, but your message and Steve
Nutt's earlier reply on this thread, make me more inclined
to reconsider navigation methods other than Nokia Maps, and
also to consider uninstalling Nokia Maps from my N82.
