Hi all.
I want to tell you about a PC-based screen reader called
Cobra and how it can work with your Talks compatible
mobile phone. One of the many powerful and unique
features of Cobra is
a mobile phone monitor. This feature not only displays
the output of your phone, but also allows you to use it
right from your PC keyboard. Here is how you would set
this all up: 1. Download and Install Cobra, which you
can try for free from www.baum.de/cms/en/cobra/.
2. Download and Install Talks Braille Interface (TBI),
which you can use for free from
www.baum.de/cms/en/support/. 3. Make sure your PC
supports bluetooth. Set up the
adaptor so you have an incoming serial port. The Windows
"Standard Bluetooth over Serial Link" driver will work
just fine. Pair the PC with the phone. 4. In Cobra,
press the Cobra key, which is the caps lock
key by default, hold it, and press the letter m. This
will display the mobile phone monitor. Select your
bluetooth serial port in the list and press enter. 5.
Now, on the phone, use the Talks command to change the
Braille output from none to "Talks Braille Interface".
This is Talks long end. 6. Select the name of your PC
in the list of bluetooth
devices, and Talks should say, "Talks Braille Interface
loaded". From this point on, the PC monitor will
display what is
on the phone's screen, which in turn sends it to Cobra's
speech synthesizer/Braille display for output. You will
also be able to control the phone directly using the PC
keyboard, including sending of text messages and
amending
calendar appointments. If you have any problems or
