Hi Steve, Not sure how aware you are of phone contracts and tariffs, but it is often the case that packages have a high number of SMS messages included in themonthly charge, whereas you are charged for MMS. The T-Mobile Flext tariffswere one of the exceptions, where customers have a quantified budget allocated to them each month which does include MMS. So, people will often prefer to send several SMS's worth of messages for free than one MMs at cost.Roaming is the exception to this, where for example it is cheaper for me to send all messages through MMS than via SMS. This is with T-Mobile for bothmy business and personal contracts. _______________________________________ Have a pleasant day, Kind Regards and Best Wishes, Hussein. SMS is the system whereby text messages are broadcast, and it stands for Short Message Service. My emphasis on the word Short. Are you all after sending novels by text then? If you are going to send a long message, probably better to send it via MMS, you only get charged for one MMS message instead of three or four SMS messages. NowI have 2 e71 phones. On my Vodafone one it does not always work but on my 02 one, where the recipient is also 02, I have absolutely no problem. However, as I have my contract with Vodafone and am on pay as you go with 02, my preference is to use the Vodafone. I must follow this more closely though next time I do it and will feed back to the list. I could transfer a txt documentto my phone and then send it on by text message. I would be charged the rate of 3 to 4 text messages because of the size of the document. Since the firmware upgrade from 1.42 to 3.42 this is no longer possible. At least that's all I could ever do. -----Original Message----- From: talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of saqib hussain Sent: 16 January 2010 21:54 To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [talks-uk] Sending large text messages Hi. I use to be able to send large text messages such as instructions or football reports to my friends. I can't do this anymore since I had upgraded my firmware on the Nokia E71. I get a message asking me to delete some characters as the message is to big. Is there a setting in which I can alter so I can send large text messages as I have unlimited texts so I'm not restricted to a certain amount of texts per month.__________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signaturedatabase 4783 (20100118) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security.
