Hi Alprit. No you don't have to. Are you using XP or Vista? If you can't
activate the link then copy the link and paste it into your browser and that
should work. When you get to send space you will have a lot of adverts to
work through until you get the download link then it is as usual. If you
have any problems then let me know. Walter.

Hi Walter

I've just clicked on to the link you supplied to browse through your
ringtones but can't find anything. Is it necessary for me to download the
sendspace tool?

If not, can you send me a list of instructions to get the tones please? My
address is:-

alprit@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks

Pritesh

Hi all. for sometime I have had a lot of ringtones I downloaded. I have
never used them as I just don't have time to play about with them. There
all sorts and hundreds of them. There is humorous text alerts and call
alerts plus music, more than I can say, there is so much. I am going to
delete them very shortly but I've uploaded them for someone else on another
list so thought I would give you all here the opportunity to grab them while
their still on send Space. If you don't know how to use Send Space then
just email me and I'll help out but really, it is so easy you will laugh
when you realize how easy it is to use, and it is free. Anyhow, the link is
below. Walter.

Hi Walter,

Well I think Mobile Speak would be a step backwards after Talks, but that's
just my opinion.

All the best

Hi Steve. Thanks for that. I will ask Voedafone about these phones you
mention but I'm not sure if they do them. I didn't realise that Vodeafone
don't provide every phone nokia produce and I'm not sure if the 85 and 86
are the ones they do provide, I'll ask though. I'm not sure about the
Ereckson X1 and Mobile Speak, it is new ground to me, kinda going from
windows to Mac, a scary prospect. Walter.

Hi Walter,

Anything is better than the N96 in my opinion. It is full of problems, Talks
doesn't sound too good on it at all, basically the fault rate is high.

I would recommend the N85 if you want to keep a slide phone, or even the
N86, although this is not fully supported yet. It hopefully will be though.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [talks-uk] Dilemma, can you help?

    Hi folks.

A couple of months ago I mentioned I was thinking of an upgrade and there
was a couple of phones I could consider including the N96. Now, at the
moment
I have the N95 and as I mentioned then, it was giving me some problems.
Steve Nut suggested it might be the firm ware that was responsible and I got
Voedafone
to upgrade the firm ware to the latest version and it seems to have worked
very well. I'm getting much better battery life, the phone is responding to
key strokes much more rapidly and the signal strength is much better. On
this last point I'm now getting 7 bars in locations were I was only getting
2
or three and even sometimes only one previously. Now, here's the dilemma.
Since I started the train of thought about upgrading I still might be
inclined
to do so but in what direction should I jump? The options have changed now
though. I could keep my much more efficient N95 or I could still go for the
N96. The new option that has been introduced is to become apostate and
leave Nokia and get a Sony Erickson phone, the model recommended to me was
the
X1. This is a touch screen but has a slide out quirty keyboard. I was told
that the X1 is a better phone than the N96, particularly the music player
which is what I'm most interested in. The added complication is I would
have to defect from Talks to Mobile Speak as the X1 according to the
Voedafone
upgrade guy will carry Mobile Speak but not Talks. If I go for Mobile Speak
then I would have to find an email list that deals with that programme and
I don't know if there is any dedicated Mobile Speak lists around. Now after
all that, can anyone tell me if the X1 is a better phone than the N96
despite
it being touch screen and does the fact it is touch screen mean it is
subject to the same problems discussed in the thread about the Ifone? Is
Mobile
Speak better or worse than Talks? Is the learning curve steep or is the
navigation similar to Talks? If anyone can answer any of these questions in
full
or in part I would be grateful as it would give me something to work on when
it comes to making my mind up which way to jump. With many thanks. Walter.
