Steve:When you say make sure the phone is locked, do you mean that the keypad is locked or some other setting? Please clarify.

Hi Jackie, Yes. Turn on Mute On Keylock and make sure your phone is locked. If itisn't, you won't get the tone. I'm prepared to bet that the phones where the beep sounds instead of your tone, has Mute On Keylock turned off. This is inthe advanced tab of Talks. All the best Steve -----Original Message----- From: talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jackie Cairns Sent: Sunday 23 August 2009 10:47 To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [talks-uk] Ring tones with latest Talks update Could someone please attempt to answer this one for me? I have installed the latest update to Talks on my work N82, my own N82, and on Ian's own N82. The common denominator with these three phones is that they all have K-Reader installed on them, which also saw a new update on Friday which we installed. Since the new Talks update, however, whenever my work N82 and Ian's N82 receive text messages, they do not sound the assigned ring tone. There is a short beep as if the display is off, but no actual ring tone. My own N82 is ok though, and does give the tone I have assigned. All three handsets are set up identically in terms of settings. Does anyone have any ideas please? Neither of us wants a phone that doesn't use a ring tone, so we would have to go back to Talks version 4 if that were the case. But if one phone works properly, why don't the others? Thanks for any suggestions.
