I believe you have to install the Nokia updater on your PC first then follow
the instructions carefully.

I think there are others on the list better placed to walk you through the
process if you need them to as I don't feel 100% confident.

I did just follow the instructions once I had installed the above mentioned
software on the PC though and I was fine and so was the phone!

How can I get the firmware to do it myself? I have a friend coming in some
time this week and he works with computers so he would be able to help me
put it in the phone.

You probably could do with getting a later edition of the N95 unless you are
happy to update the firmware yourself.

I had one of the earlier N95's and it was a bit unstable.

Once the new firmware came out (August this year I think), it really settled
down and is a hard phone to beat to be honest.

Cheers.

Hi Paul
My phone is unlocked. Got a good chap at Vodafone and he unlocked it free
of charge the day I got it. Did Google Nokia and it would seem that they do
support dual SIM. I don't want to buy on E-bay because I want to know what
I buy is good/new.

I don't get that either.

The N95 can be unlocked to use other SIM cards as can any other phone that I
can think of.

I think you can also have more than one Vodafone SIM too.

I understood that with a dual Sim, you have to choose which one you want to
use when you first switch the phone on. I imagine you get a menu of choice
as you do with any other instance of using the phone.

I would just Google it as a question like: "Does the Nokia N95 support dual
SIM functionality"? Or something and see what comes up.

I would think that the phone would certainly have to be unlocked though.

Hope this helps.

Eleanor, They would say that wouldn't they? They don't want you using
another sim card.

Cheers

Hi Steve

Vodafone have told me that N95 does not support dual SIM card. I am
surprised at that. Can you confirm that? Please do not worry, your response
has no baring on my contract to purchase.
