OK Jackie that explains it. Now how would I know if I had bluetooth on this machine if I do not plug in the dongle? Where would I look? The machine is quite new.

Hi Eleanor

I don't have a Bluetooth dongle on my Samsung where I was having the
problem. I just wanted to use the built-in Windows Bluetooth, but the
Samsung software was conflicting with it, as previously posted. As my
desktop machine is a bit old, I have a dongle for that. My HP Vista
laptop also has built-in Bluetooth, so no need for a dongle on that
either.

I never knew there was such a think as an internal bluetooth radio.
Then why is Barbra also plugging in a bluetooth dongle. I know Jackie
has a bluetooth dongle. Is the Windows on the NC10 XP Home or XP Pro?
I think it is home.

Hi Eleanor,

You shouldn't have to plug anything in, it should still use the
internal Bluetooth radio, or am I wrong Jackie?

All the best

Steve

Thanks Steve I will take your advice and Jackie's too and remove it. I

had felt it would save plugging in USB AND TAKING UP A PORT.

Hi Eleanor.

No I haven't. I'd be inclined to remove it too. I like the way the
Windows software works, why do Samsung think they know better?

All the best

Steve have you looked at the bluetooth on the N C 10 as I do not
really want to remove it as per what Jackie did. I want to get it to
work as I do not see why it should not.

Hi Alex,

Go into Bluetooth on your phone, and make sure that it is set to Shown

To All, as opposed to Hidden.

All the best

Nokia 6680

Hi all,

I was trying to transfer a couple of MP3 files earlier today, (with
bluetooth dongle plugged into my PC, and bluetooth switched on on my
phone), but even though the two devices had been paired, they didn't
want to see each-other.

I then found that PC suite had an update so I updated it to the latest

version which is 7.1.8.0 but the two devices wouldn't pair even though

I deleted the pairing and tried again.

I would have connected via a cable, but I've lost my cable and don't
want to borrow my wife's cable and loose that too.

Can anyone work out why I am having the problems with the bluetooth?
Could it be because of the fact I tried to test the jayo mobile
extender program Neil mentioned in another message? Please note
however, that I have now deleted Jayo Mobile extender from both my PC
and my phone encase that was part of the problem with my bluetooth
issue.

Thank you in advance for any advice.
