Hi Steve Thanks for that. There was something when I looked using Google, but, it looked really complicated, as I say and had something to do with changing the code on your handset to effectively make it a non branded phone.
Then, apparently, you could update to the latest firmware and presumably, run the risk of messing up your phone anyway as well as risking loosing any warranty.
So, I didn't bother. I will try plaguing Vodafone again and see what they say.----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Paul, There is no way round it, unless Voda release the new firmware to thepublic, and they may not have done. The only way I know of is that perhapsa Nokia service centre may be able to hardware flash it. I keep being told this by Nokia and have no doubt that it is true. I phone Vodafone and they tell me it is Nokia's problem. I get the feeling that there is a way round this but, it is going to be complicated. Any help gratefully received. Cheers. Most of the problems though with N95 are due to the firmware not being up to date. The client who sent two back got them from car phone warehouse. The other guy i know who has gone through three I am not sure where he got them from but certainly not from us. We buy our phones from the order in Crewe and haven't had a problem with one to date. Cheers! I have bought several N95s from Expansys, and they have all been OK. Unfortunately not. poor battery life for this phone has been highlighted in a number of groups as one of the only serious problems with this phone. Certainly the sound quality is good, the phone is feature rich and few people should have any problems whatsoever with the keypad.
