I did leave o2 for that reason among others. Unfortunately t-mobile are not much better. Too many of the people providing tech support in these companies neither seem to have the knowledge, the intellect or the skill to do their job to an appropriate standard. Rather than just saying they don't know and will need to go and look into the problem they will go as far as telling lies if necessary just to get you off the phone and registered as a problem dealt with. I am glad you finally got through to someone with some propper knowledge and ability. I decided last night to give O2 Tech support one more go before giving it up as a bad job, like a dog with a bone I am! Well the guy I got had more of a clue than the lady I spoke to the other day and explained things very well. What he said was this...I was trying to access Email using the Mailbox option under Messaging on the phone. He said this is only available on O2 with I Mode phones. With a regular WAP internet connection, Email is accessed through the Messaging & Chat option on the O2 WAP home page. First though you have to register on the O2 web site to get a user name and password and you automatically get an o2.co.uk Email address. I have done this for my friend and she finds using the WAP Email very accessible and is finally happy! So in a roundabout way we've managed to get it sorted and that you'll be glad to know is the end of the saga. I only wish people who worked in tech support knew what they were saying when asked. Thanks for all the help again. If you ring or email me I am prepared to try and get it working at my end though I realise this is not ideal as you would have to give your friend's password. None have worked. Not sure if the tech support are right when they say you can't get Email on Pay & Go. Looked on the O2 web site and the only thing I can find relating to Email is instructions to set up mobile web and Email using a laptop with the phone. A long and very complicated process and not very practical when on the move (Rather defeats the purpose of mobile!) Also, a subscription is required. I have decided to give it up as a bad job. I don't think my friend is really bothered, but I am one of those annoying people who don't like to be beaten, but even I have to admit defeat sometime! Many thanks to all of those who tried to help out and if someone does work it out with O2, I'd be glad to hear in the future. Graham, thanks specially for all your advice.
