Hi Steve

It's BT. I've used the phone for Emails with both Virgin and Orange before and
all worked fine. All the settings are correctly set.

  Hi Barbara,

Which provider are you trying to get your Email from? It could be that your
SMTP server needs some security settings, or POP and SMTP servers may be on
different ports.

  All the best

  Steve

  Subject: [talks-uk] O2

  Hi All

Not strictly TALKS related, but I'm hoping someone can help me out.

Using a Nokia N82 with a new O2 PAYG SIM. I have installed the WAP and
Picture Messaging settings they sent me. However, when I try to connect to my
Email through the messaging program, I am asked which connection I want to use.
I am selecting O2 Prepay WAP, is this right? It works fine for browsing, but
when I use it for Email, it starts the connection process and then nothing
happens. It does not come back and tell me it can't connect, it just sort of
freezes. When I press key 1 it says "Key 1" And when I press key 2 it cancels
the process. No matter how long I leave it for, still nothing else happens.
I've tried connecting using the other access points such as O2 gprs and O2
mobile web, but get a response like "Gateway not responding".

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I need some additional
settings from O2?

  Kind Regards

  Barbara
