I've always found it a bit iffey, Chris, whether with or without Talks muted. I think it only works with a certain amount of pressure on the key and if the key is depressed for the right amount of time. It also may cease to function if the phone is ready for a reboot, I would think.

Hi all. Then why when I tried it with Talks unmuted did key 2 appear to not do anything? I pressed and held it and heard no tone, so went on a friend's advice to mute Talks before using voice commands. Take care. I will answer question 2. First of all, make sure you are on the standby screen, the one that shows your network, today's date, and whatever has been assigned to key 1, key 2 and select. Next, mute Talks with Talks+clear. Next, press and hold key 2. When you hear a series of tones, speak the contact you wish to call in a nice clear voice. If recognized, it will play back the correct voice tag, then call the appropriate contact. If it says, "No Matches Found", keep trying. Hope this helps. Take care. How do I "lock"my N 86 for security purposes?I would like to be able to have to edit a PIN in order to use the phone if that is possible, since I will be traveling and I am concerned about theft. 2. How do I use the "voice command" for my contacts? I saw this feature in the manual but, was not able to get it to work. I would like to be able to search for a contact by voice instead of scrolling down the alphabet to find something. 3. I live in the US and will be visiting Germany and Italy. I don't have a roaming plan on my cell. Is there a reasonable way to get a SIM card for the countries I am visiting? Thanks for any help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "All formats" <allformats@xxxxxxxxx> To: <talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, March 11, 2011 12:27 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: Nokia N86 8MPIt's a good phone Chris. Has just received this phone. Had a brief look at it and wow I like it a lot. Very tactile keypad, looks easy to use once I know the positioning of the keys. Haven't installed Talks yet as I need help to replace the sim card and to check and set a few settings for me. Take care. --Chris Hallsworth
