Hi Mark Just tried that on the Nokia 6260 and it works. Now why didn't I think of that? A tip: to go straight to the Talks Menu without having to cursor through the other menu items, press the Talks Key followed by the Menu key. Back again, Right, open Talks settings, for me this is by bringing up the main menu on the phone and cursoring to the Talks settings option. This opens on the 'general' tab, cursor to the right once, to the 'advanced tab'. On the 'Advanced' Tab cursor down to about the forth option down in the list, which is called 'Cursor mode'. I'm not sure what this will be set to by default, but the options are 'origional', 'Words', and 'letters'. Change this to 'letters', and it should then be set up fine to allow you to read through the Text messages a letter at a time so you can spell out those words which Talks won't speak understandably.... This is on my Nokia 6630, but as its a Talks-software specific rather than a phone-specific software option as far as I can tell, I'm guessing it should be the same on other phones. This is version Talks 2.01.11.... I seem to remember it being the same on the previous version of Talks I had on this phone and also something simular when I was using the Nokia 9210I. Date: Sat, 15 Apr 2006 12:34:07 +0000 Hello, Yes there is a simple setting to change to allow you to do this, unfortunately my phone is on charge at the moment, soon as its finished charging I'll go have a look and remind myself where and what the setting is, less of course someone else beats me to sending the reply! It took me a while to find where this setting was as well, as you say its sometimes hard to figure out what a word is in a text message especially if its in 'txt speak', or for that matter spelt as badly as mine normally are.... Hi, When viewing a text message in the in box, I can't read letter by letter or word by word with the left and right cursor keys, only line by line, is this normal or is there a setting in talks that needs tweaking? No problem when writing a text message, but sometimes I can't understand a word in an incoming message and I would like to read that word letter by letter, is this possible? Thanks in advance. Jim.
