Hi Craig.
You might want to investigate the possibility of getting the phone unbranded.
Basically, unbranding changes the phone's unique service code to accept a Nokia
firmware installation. This is not to be confused with changing the phone's
IMEI or serial numbers which is illegal, but changing the operator service code
which is presumably still set to the one that Vodafone use for their branded
firmware. A company called www.fonefunshop.co.uk will for £20 unbrand your
handset and post it back to you, or else you could find a local supplier to
help you with this as the software needed to change the service code isn't very
accessible.

Oh, that is awquard of them. i think it was originally a vodafone phone but
now unlocked and using o2, can i get the latest version or do i just have to
wait for o2 to hurry themselves up in making it available?

No, it is not the latest version. The N96 is up to V20. The problem is your
mobile provider have not released the latest firmware to you.

hello Sam, the firmware i have on my n 96 is 11.018.225.3, when i try to
update this it says no updates available so i assume this is the latest version.
