HI Barbara, This would be impossible since the N85 has no touch sensors in the screen. All the best Steve -----Original Message----- From: talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:talks-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Barbara Wilson Sent: Sunday 5 July 2009 20:11 To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N95 versus N96 versus N85 Hi Steve, I think what Walter was saying that Vodafone have had their version of the N85 adapted by Nokia to make part of the screen a touch screen for social networking apps they're releasing later in the year. Correct me if I am wrong Walter. The N85 does not have any touch screen element at all. The new N97 does but not the N85. I'm not certain if the N86 does either. I'm sure though you'll get on ok though with the one you're getting. Best regards and good luck, smiles! It does sound like a good phone but the Voda version is slightlydifferent as they have had Nokia adapt it for their services and since ithas a touch screen element and the key pad is more difficult than the 96 although I'm sure with use it would become easier, I have went for the 6210 navigator. I don't know how accessible the GPS on the 6210 will be nor the compass (useless I assume) but I'm not overly concerned about that as phone calls, texts and music is what I'm interested in and it will cope with a 16gig card also. If I don't like it, I can return it and I might then try the voeda version of the 85 and see how I get on but it isn't available until the end of this month. I have the N85 also and totally love it. It is much smaller than theN95 8GB which I also own. I find the responsiveness with talks very good also and it also has some very nice little add ons like the audio themes. You can assign sounds to the slide open and close etc. It doesn't have anyhigh capacity internal memory like the N95 8 GB though in reality, it hasgood onb board phone memory. You can however get up to a 16 GB Micro SD card for it. N85 is very much the way to go. Smiles. I agree with Steve Nut inregards the N96 is too problematic and that's why I had to change to theN85...and since I did, I've been highly pleased with it. It only has the 8gig memory, but how much stuff can you listen to at once! I'ts a stirdy, neat slider phone with exellent audio qualities. The daisy player worksbeautifully with audio books and it has an added extra over the N96, which is the FM transmitter. You can play a file and tune a regular FM radio into the frequency of your choice. So, you can easily go about your business around the house whilst listening to whatever it is you're listening to over the radio! (at higher volume). It also can be used with a good selection of audio themes, which add a little individuality to yourphone...I don't think you'd be disappointed with it. HTH, cheers Steve.----- Original Message ----- From: "Walter Ramage" <wpr@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, July 05, 2009 7:52 AM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N95 versus N96 versus N85Hi Amro. A good player with lots of storage space is what I'm looking for and I was given the option of an E model but when I discovered that it is business orientated and the music player is basically an add on I decided to stick to the N series. I would just like to know that if I went for the N85 I wouldn't be swapping like for like with my N95 as on the face of it, there doesn't seem to be much difference apart from the model name. I personally prefer the E models, I find them more elegant and certainly smaller than the N models. The E phones are the Nokia business series. I was speaking to Voedafone today regarding my upgrade. AsSteve mentioned last night I asked them about the N85 and the N86. They don't do the 86 but do the 85. What would you say about these handsets; which of them is the better option. Of course we are talking about talks here so even though a handset might be superior, in the balance when Talks is added into the equation, the most technically superior machine might not be the "best." The N96 is not very ergonomically good as a result of it's keypad being so flush. So the N95 and N85 would,or could be considered superior. If I discounted the N96 and opted toeither keep my N95 or go for the N85 would I merely be swapping like for like? Is there any real difference between the N85 and the N95 apart from the N85 being a newer model? All of you who have an opinion and especially if you have had experience with any of these handsets your contribution would be welcomed.
