I have a similar problem with my E65. When caller ID is on, the music is silenced, which I too find infuriating! smile.

Well, that wasn't working for me; once the Talks announcement cut in, the music ceased and I didn't like that! <Smiles>-- Carol carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx On Twitter: http://twitter.com/songbird49a ---- Original Message ---- From: "Eleanor Burke" <eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, May 29, 2010 9:35 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N86 AND TALKSInteresting Carol and Hussein, I actually have my caller ID set so that it just comes on automatically rather than a Talks thing. I just hear my phone ringing and the person's name announced. No sweat as they say *smile*. I didn't know that soft key 2 announced the caller ID (though of course I should have done). Anyway, now I've adjusted settings, preferring, as you do, to use that key to find out when necessary because at least then the music goes on playing until I respond. Thanks also for your additional point about using the End Call key, which I shall continue to do. Thanks for taking the time. It's much appreciated. -- Carol carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx On Twitter: http://twitter.com/songbird49a ---- Original Message ---- From: "Hussein Patwa" <talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, May 29, 2010 8:47 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N86 AND TALKSHi Carol, I don't use the Talks call announcement myself, preferring to press soft key 2 to hear who the caller is and then decide whether to reject, accept or let the call ring out. As for your other question, I always use the End Call key, which works both if the keypad was locked or unlocked before the call came through. If anyone is using the N86 with Talks and has succeeded in getting Talks speaking well announcing your caller, together with the music (ring tone), could you kindly either give me the settings you think may be most relevant for me and how you have them set; or let me know how you're coping with this problem as I find I'm not hearing calls (because, maybe my settings or something, is causing the music to stop and the caller announcement not always to work). Sorry that's all a bit garbled! I'm also having a problem in terminating a call. Sometimes I think I'm supposed to use soft keys 1-2, whilst at others I have thought I'm to use the Nokia's Send and End Call keys. Perhaps this is affected by whether the key lock is on at the time of termination. If anyone could help me to understand what I'm supposed to be doing, hopefully I'll get there.
