I said the other day that they informed me that they don't. Hence the other discussions about my options regards release from contract etc. Thanks. Will be interested to hear from you if they meet your requirements. Like you I think Vodafone coverage is good but when I was in Eastbourne a few weekends back, I could get no signal on my phone in the B&B and was very surprised. I had to leave the building to get a signal. This was a pity as I had brought my netbook and thought I would use Walking Hot Spot for the first time. I had to struggle with Whs AND AT TIMES i GOT A VERY WEAK SIGNAL AND WAS ABLE TO OBTAIN MY E-MAILS ON THE NETBOOK BUT COULD NOT SURF THE NET REALLY. a BIT OF A PITY AS IT DEFEATED THE PURPOSE. i CAN GET E-MAILS ON MY PHONE BUT i HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE whs A GO AND THEN the wretched signal was not good. Sorry for the mixture of upper and lower case in this e-mail. ----- Original Message ----- From: "All formats" <allformats@xxxxxxxxx> To: <talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, November 20, 2009 10:47 AM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N86 Hi Pete Thanks for this. Some great suggestions I hadn't thought of. I will start upping the anti with Vodafone and talk to them about my contract release options... It would be a shame to have to leave them really as I have been with them for a while and I am still a traditionalist in that their coverage is very good, still not as much 3G as I would like though. I have thought about asking them to pay for me to have an unlocked N86 and then stay with the contract I already have... Think I'm gonna ask for a big manager person! I agree that I shouldn't have to accept a lesser phone spec and I recognise that I still have around 14 months to go on my contract with a rubbish phone which is really unacceptable. How are you using the N97 by the way? It doesn't work with Talks at the moment does it? Again, thanks for your input. If you can get out of your contract then you should get the N86 as it has a lot going for it and as soon as Nuance roll out support for the Internet and email it will be amazing. Personally I've gone for the N97 as the next phone from my N95 8GB but that is just my preference and it sounds like you would be more suited the N86 anyways. If you can't get out of the contract and they perhaps give you another N96 then take it, sell it on either Ebay or a recycle website (you can get approx £150 on phone recycle sites as I just checked) and buy the Sim Free N86 off play.com or amazon for £299 so it's only cost £150 which overall is not bad for what you get and you can maybe get a better line rental with Vodafone and recoup that extra £150 anyway Hope this helps Cheers Pete -original message- Subject: [talks-uk] Re: N86 From: "All formats" <allformats@xxxxxxxxx> Date: 19/11/2009 10:48 am As I just said, I am thinking about that anyway. I have found with Vodafone that it is best to phone them in the evening if you want someone who will take you seriously. It would be a hustle of course but, I'm beginning to think it will be worth the fight. Thanks. If you have had so many problems with the N96 and they do not provide a alternitive phone suitable for your needs, would you not be within your rights to terminate the contract? Certainly without prejudice to yourself? Then you could go to either Orange or phones4u where the n86 is available on contract. Seems to me just replacing the phone consttantly is not a resolution to your issue! My own son is having a similur problem with his Nokia 5800, he is now on his 4th! good luck!
