Hi Graham,

Have you tried upping the speech delay? Set it to 0 and you'll see the N95
fly. Mine does anyway. If yours doesn't, time for a firmware upgrade.

All the best

Steve

Hi steve.

I have the N95 8GB and find that talks 4 is less responsive than talks 3.
It does not let you review ring tones without muting the phone. It does say
numbers where numbers are required in a text box. I've not tested viewing
of word documents yet but if you can read them this could be useful. If you
have an N95 however and don't need to read word documents or play daisy
books then you may be better sticking with talks 3 in my opinion as it seems
to be a lot more responsive.

Cheers

Graham

Subject: [talks-uk] Initial thoughts on Talks 4

Hi list, just installed Talks 4 on my N85 and my initial thoughts are
mixed I guess. The pluses are being able to reassign the talks key, the
daisy player and the fact you can select a ringtone without muting talks.
The minuses are talks still doesn't read the radio window, the photos window
and I can't tab between phone memory and memory card in the gallery view.
Talks is also reading some odd stuff when in a message window. In the "to
and text" fields it says "add/text, dictionary upper case", even when its
set to lower case!...it didn't say anything like this before. 1 more thing
is that a message tone still will not be played when talks is on and the
phone is locked, only when muted. I think because specific phones are
listed in the "supported phones" list, you can get the impression that work
is done to make talks work specifically on that phone, but really it's an
across the board support for the cymbian platform...and I'd be interested to
find out if there's much difference from phone to phone when it comes to
functionality of specific apps. Cheers Steve.
