Yes, you would be safer to as a loss of battery life would damage the
update process.

BTW, do you have to set the phone charging when updating if you know
that
the phone is fully charged first? I can see that the phone would need
to be
charging while updating if you were starting from a low battery level,
but
what about if it's already charged?
