Would agree with the inferiority in that feature Steve. However, I still think as far as things like WLAN are concerned, the E Series performs far better. I think it's just a question of knowing what you want your phone to do and then buying accordingly. For example, I don't use mine as a music player, so can live with having to mute TALKS while I review the ringtones as I want a good fast, reliable and stable WLAN connection. Others want good music quality and aren't bothered about the Internet. So it's all personal preference. Maybe one day they will bring out a phone which does all, but then again I guess the N82 was one such handset as the wireless on it was excellent.

The E phones have a single cheaper audio chip in them, which prevents them from playing multiple sounds at once. For example, with my N79, I don't have to mute Talks while selecting ring tones. With all the E phones that I have seen, you do. So while they are good for business applications, Nokia have taken shortcuts with the audio. Talks seems to perform better on E series phones in comparison to N series phones. But some others have opposite views on the matter. Basically, it all comes down to your level of comfort with a particular model. Your Friend Sameer Latey Mumbai, India----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Wilson" <barkingbabs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Walter I've only ever tested an E71 and never held an N96. However, I've heard bad reports about the sound quality of TALKS on the N96, whereas I recall it sounded fine on the E71. I personally don't like qwerty keypads on phones, but that's a personal thing for me. The E71 felt nice and slim and
having a stainless steel casing, didn't feel cheap and plasticy at all. The back had a kind of brushed steel finish, it did feel like quality and I did like its build. If you aren't put off too much by the qwerty keypad,
I'd go for the E71, but that's just me! I have learned that I am now eligible for an upgrade with Voedafone. The 2 phones I can have are the E71 or the N96 with a contribution of £135 for the 96. My question is, which of the two phones
is the better? The 96 has 16gig capacity whereas the 71 only has 8. On the other hand the 71 has a quirty keypad which to me seems a bit fiddly but the 96 being the brother to the n95 I worry it has the same propensity to be unstable and for ever crashing and the battery life of the 95 is crap. The n95 I have at the moment is the original one, the silver one that doesn't have a hard drive. I would really appreciate any input you can give and your opinions on either of these phones. It seems to be harder getting a phone now since so many are touch screens.
