Hi Barbara. Thanks very much for your feedback. I guess like everything else once you got used to it the quirty would be ok but if the phone iscompact like you say it is then the keypad will be very compressed. I don'teven like using a laptop keyboard because of it's cramped nature but Isuppose in the case of the phone you would only use one finger so that mighthelp. the things I'm looking for are: good build, reliability, stability(especially with Talks), good battery life, a good music player with lots ofcapacity. I had thought of getting a new mp3 player but I've got kinda spoiled with the music player on my 95. The ability to have talks help menavigate through the track list is a great benefit. If I got an mp3 playerI wouldn't have any means of doing that unless the player could handle Rockbox but that's going down a rout that means extra costs and inconvenience. Therefore a phone that does both is a great advantage. Doyou know if the E71 has a direct USB port? Finally, although the E71 takesan 8gig SD card, will it take a larger cardif required? However, I've heard badreports about the sound quality of TALKS on the N96, whereas I recall it sounded fine on the E71. I personally don't like qwerty keypads on phones, but that's a personal thing for me. The E71 felt nice and slim and having a stainless steel casing, didn't feel cheap and plasticy at all. The back had a kind of brushed steel finish, it did feel like quality and I did like itsbuild. If you aren't put off too much by the qwerty keypad, I'd go for the E71, but that's just me! I have learned that I am now eligible for an upgrade with Voedafone. The 2 phones I can have are the E71 or the N96 with a contribution of £135 for the 96. My question is, which of the two phones is the better? The 96 has 16gig capacity whereas the 71 only has 8. On the other hand the 71 has a quirty keypad which to me seems a bit fiddly but the 96 being the brother to the n95 I worry it has the same propensity to be unstable and for ever crashing and the battery life of the 95 is crap. The n95 I have at the moment is the original one, the silver one that doesn't have a hard drive. I would really appreciate any input you can give and your opinions on either of these phones. It seems to be harder getting a phone now since so many are touch screens.
