Hello Talksers,

I am pleased to report I successfully upgraded my N91 to the latest firmware, V2.20, the process taking about 15 minutes. I use Hal 6.53 for my computer screen reader and this doesn't work with the Nokia firmware updater, so I needed sighted help. The phone boots up faster and seems much more responsive. I successfully restored my Talks registration via SMS. Talks now reads the icons on the standby screen when active standby is on. There is a couple of seconds' delay between cursoring left/right and Talks speaking the highlighted icon. I don't like active standby and much prefer the shortcuts using the soft keys and joystick to open applications. All I have to do now is sort out my contacts and calendar and get the phone connected to our wireless network. All in all, a pretty painless procedure, if a little nerve-wracking for the first time.

I hope those of you on the list who need to upgrade your phone's firmware have the same success.

Best wishes,

Clive Pallett
