Eleanor,

To make the message disappear from the phone once you disconnect, you have
to delete it from the phone and server, otherwise the header will stay in
the list and the message will be re-downloaded if you open it again.    .

I do not totally agree with what you say Caroline.  If Carla deletes the 
message from phone only and the header remains, this does not automatically 
download again the next time, though not having deleted it from the server, 
it is readily available to be called back again.  That is of course provided

that Carla does not go in to her e-mail on her PC, in which case, the 
e-mails are downloaded to the PC and the next time Carla connects via her 
phone, they all just disappear in to cyberspace *smile*.
