OK Yvonne, do the following.

1. Open a new message on the E90. When the new message opens you should be
in the to field.
2. Press the Hash key repeatedly until Talks says (numbers). The Hash key is
the key that is on the left side of the zero key on the numbers pad.
3. Now if you start typing you'll find that you're typing in numbers. That's it, it's done. As well, from now on every time you open a message the phone
will be set to type in numbers in the to field of a text message.

Two more things worth mentioning. Generally speaking, pressing the Hash key
repeatedly cycles between the letters mode, dictionary mode and numbers
mode.

In the to field of a text message you can type a contact name instead of
their number and the message will be sent to that contact. E.g. if I'm
sending you a message, in the to field, I'd type (yvo) and the phone will
find your number in my contacts and send the message. If I have more than
one name that starts with yvo, the phone will give you a list of recipients
to choose from.

Hope that helps a bit, and sorry if you already know all of this but I'm not
sure how much you know about mobile phones.

Cheers,
Amro

hello i have a query with my e51 and e90 it's not a problem but would save
me using several key presses to get to where i want to be in the text
message

on the e51 when i press messages/new message/it comes up with numbers of
which i type in the number to whom i send the message i then arrow down type
message and send

the e90 however works exactly the same way as the e51 but for one difference it does not come up with numbers field instead i have several presses on the key pad until i get the numbers i need is there a setting that i can set the
e90 to work in exactly the same way as the e51 and give me the numbers
field?

thank you

Yvonne

Yvonne, OK. So where's the problem? That how the phone should behave. What
is it you're not sure of?

Cheers,
Amro

Yvonne, this just means the first letter of each sentence will be
upper case. Every other letter will be lower case unless you change it.

Hi all,

Tonight I was at a meting and so switched my E51 off.

When I switched it back on, all wwent wel and I was abel to key in
my PIN but then when I went to check my battery level, the talks key
wouldn't work, nor would my contacts key.

I had thought that I was in training mode but when I atempt to press
the talks key and 0, I don't get any mesage except the usual
vodafone mesage.

Have tried ringing my mobile but can't anser it.
Also I can't switch it off.
It's doing one or two other quirky things too.

My phone has worked fine today so I don't know what's going on now.

Was going to remove the sim card but don't want to do this whilst
the phone is on.

Any help on this would be appreciated as it's driving me round the
bend.

Regards

Paul.
