Hi Eleanor,

Yes, you are right. I think it is firmware dependent.

All the best

Steve

What version of hardware do you have Charles on your n96? Interestingly the
release notes on Talks 4 said d2go would work on firmware version 2.

                Hi Steve,

Can you please find out from Nuance when we might expect to get Daisy2Go
to work on a Nokia N96? I have the latest firmware installed yet the
application still does not work. Is there any sign of an update to Talks 4
in order to deal with this?

Many Thanks, With Kind Regards,

Charles Nicol

Hi Alex,

I monitor the list as a dealer, and I have passed on Caroline's feature
request.

All the best

Steve

Caroline, I don't think they do. I think one or two of them may monitor
the
the main talks list, but even then they don't take much of an interest or
get involved really.
Cheers
Alex

I wonder whether anyone from Nuance monitors this list. If not, does
anyone

know the best address to e-mail them suggestions for future enhancements?

Thanks,

Caroline.

Caroline, I completely agree with you about your feature request. After
all
how can you jump to a position in a book if you don't know where you are
at
the moment.
Cheers
Alex

Hello Barbara,

I've only recently got an N82 which is what I'm using to listen to my
first
Daisy book, so I'm not really qualified to talk about how much battery
life
Daisy2Go uses yet, although I was glad to read Alex's comment that it
doesn't have much effect.

I'm about halfway through my first RNIB Daisy book and can easily imagine
listening to entire novels on the phone as the Daisy programme basically
behaves just like an accessible MP3 player. The only feature I would like

to see added is a way to tell how far through a book you currently are and

how much time there is remaining, but apart from that, and the rather
jittery playback in non-Daisy files which I reported earlier, I think
Daisy2Go is a programme I will be using quite a lot.

Caroline.

Hi Caroline

Would you listen to a whole book like a novel on the phone? And if so,
what
phone are you using and how sore is it on the battery?

I've also used Daisyfy if I want to speed up the playback of some MP3
files.
I've found this to work quite well, although the playback can be a bit
jittery in places. I don't experience this problem when playing back
Daisy
files, so I wonder whether it's a problem with the Daisyfy part of the
program. If I stop the file and then re-start it a couple of times, the
jitter usually goes away, but I've experienced it on more than one MP3, so
don't think it's a problem with the file itself.

On the whole, I think Daisy2Go is an excellent addition to Talks.

Caroline.

Hi Barbara,

Daisy-Fy means to make MP3 files navigable. A bit like making a playlist.
You can put the files in any order then hit play.

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve

Got the second one working. Not sure if this was a factor, but the first
book which would not play I copied from a folder on the computer into
which
it had been loaded from the disc. The second book which played I loaded
onto
the phone directly from the CD.

Thanks for your help.

Ps What exactly is DAISYIFY and what does it do? Sorry if I spelt that
wrong, I just wrote it as it sounds.
