Hi Kevin. Strictly speaking, there is no necessity to have your phone rebranded or unbranded for that matter, branding is referring to the process where a specific network operator's software is installed. However, if you want to make the most of O2 specific services, they may require that you have their software installed on your handset as is currently the case with Three. If you a buy a handset from play, you receive an unlocked and unbranded phone with the Nokia version of the Symbian OS preinstalled. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kevin Russell To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, June 30, 2009 12:29 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Changing networks I've never changed networks before, but I'm planning on changing from Vodafone to O2. Currently, my phone is locked to Vodafone and there are some options on my main menu, such as Vodafone Services that were part of the Vodafone version of the OS. I've unlocked my phone, so I guess that when my O2 SIM arrives and I install it, the Vodafone Services option will still be there on my phone. Is there any way that I can delete everything to do with Vodafone and install any O2 services that might be useful, or would I have to have my phone flashed with the O2 flavour of the Symbian OS. As a secondary question, what happens when you by an unlocked phone from, say, play.com that has never been linked to a service provider. When you sign up to a service provider, is there a way of installing there services to appear as options on the main menu. Thanks in advance.
