Hi,

This is an area of particular interest to me as is anything related to phone
firmware.

In the past Orange were notorious for bogging down the phone with network
specific apps and visual customisations. Some of the firmware they shipped
with their phones was particularly ugly and actually affected the phone's
everyday performance. Many of their customisations affected users with some
sight as it actually made the screen difficult to see, even if it didn't
affect the speech readability with Talks.

'3' are another company that like tinkering with phone customisation, but
I've not heard of any really bad ones of late.

There are of course ways to remove the customisations but that's not Talks
specific so I best not venture into it here.
